The NABU Detectives have started pre-trial investigation as of 63 criminal proceedings in February 2020. 19 persons were given notices of suspicion of committing corruption crimes within criminal proceedings investigated by NABU and SAPO. Indictments as of 8 persons were sent to court. That are the results of NABU activities as of February 2020.
On February 26, 2020, the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) approved plea bargain agreement between the Prosecutors of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor`s Office (SAPO) and the accused former Member of Parliament of Ukraine. The ex-MP found guilty on submitting false data to e-declarations. His actions are qualified under Article 366-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The storm clouds gather over the Director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau, Artem Sytnyk. 216 Members of Parliament of Ukraine signed a draft resolution on his dismissal. In turn, G7 ambassadors released support statement for Artem Sytnyk.
On February 5, 2020, the Detectives of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) exposed the Head of the District Court of Zakarpattia Oblast on receiving an improper advantage. They acted jointly with the officers of the Department of Strategic Investigation of the National Police of Zakarpattia Oblast under the procedural guidance of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor`s Office.
On January 31, 2020, the Detectives of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) under the procedural guidance of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor`s Office (SAPO) jointly with the officers of the Security Service of Ukraine (the SSU) exposed the Head of one of the Departments of the State Reserve Agency of Ukraine (SRAU). He was detained on giving USD 40 thousand of improper advantage to the SRAU Head.
