Despite the war, Ukraine has been pursuing a series of anti-corruption reforms that are part of the country's efforts to fight for its future, prepare for post-war recovery, and promote multilateral cooperation. This was noted by Polina Lysenko, Deputy Director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, at the 2024 OECD Global Anti-Corruption & Integrity Forum (GACIF).
NABU and SAPO have uncovered a scheme to misappropriate 2.24 hectares of forest land in the Vyshhorod district, the Kyiv region, valued at UAH 2.95 million.
NABU and SAPO, in cooperation with the SSU, exposed two deputies of the Sumy Regional Council, one being the chief physician of a local hospital, who planned to bribe a representative of the city administration.
On 20 March 2024, NABU and SAPO, in cooperation with the SSU, exposed a deputy of the Regional Council, head of the budget committee, who solicited and received an undue advantage from a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
