The lack of final court decisions is one of the main obstacles to the return of assets obtained by criminal means from abroad. This problem is relevant not only for Ukraine. Representatives of anti-corruption bodies identified the most serious challenges during the II International Expert Meeting in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on May 7-9, 2019.
The analysis of electronic declarations of top officials is one of the key mechanisms of the detection of corruption. The visit took place in the framework of the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP).
Employees of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) learned about the pre-trial investigation of corruption offences through reconnaissance and covert operations, the application of preventive measures in the sphere of the combating corruption, the organization of training programs to raise public awareness about the negative effects of corruption and counteract it. That was during the "Criminal Justice Against Corruption" program in Japan from October 8 till November 16, 2018.
