UAH 1.55 million for facilitating contracts with Ukrzaliznytsia: file disclosed
NABU and SAPO have completed an investigation of three persons involved in a scheme, namely the deputy director of the "Production Support Center" branch of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" and two accomplices.
According to the investigation, in April-May 2023, the official received a Toyota Camry worth UAH 1.55 million as an undue advantage. In exchange, he facilitated the conclusion of contracts with the necessary suppliers and acted in their interests during the execution of contracts and settlement.
On 22 May 2023, NABU and SAPO caught two persons that provided an undue advantage to the official. The following day, the deputy director was also detained. Detectives found the car (the undue advantage) in one of the settlements in the Lviv region. The car was seized in order to preserve material evidence and apply a special confiscation procedure.
The persons were served with a notice of suspicion under Part 4 Article 368, Part 3 Article 369, Part 1, Part 2 Article 209 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The accomplices are also suspected of money laundering - the acquisition of immovable and movable property worth over UAH 20 million.

According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered not-guilty in the commission of a crime and cannot be subject to criminal punishment until he or she is found guilty by court.
