Ex-utility enterprise head suspected of UAH 12.7 million losses
NABU and SAPO, together with NPU's Strategic Investigations Department in the Poltava region, have charged the former acting director of a utility enterprise in the Poltava region with abuse of official position, causing millions of dollars in losses to the territorial community.
As established, in 2020, the official unlawfully initiated the issuance of almost UAH 1.9 million in repayable financial assistance from a private company to a utility enterprise.
The debt was due in a month, but the parties agreed to settle it by transferring the enterprise's facilities, allegedly worth UAH 1.8 million, to the company.
Meanwhile, according to the examination, the actual value of the transferred real estate was UAH 14.5 million, and the alienation itself took place in violation of the law and without the owner's consent.
As a result, the territorial community suffered UAH 12.7 million in losses.
The official's actions fall under Part 2 Art. 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered not-guilty in the commission of a crime and cannot be subject to criminal punishment until he or she is found guilty by court.
