NABU detectives master state-of-the-art cryptocurrency investigation techniques
Last year, over 250 NABU detectives and analysts successfully completed a nine-month training "CryptoEdge: Cryptocurrency technologies and methods of investigating crimes using virtual assets". Based on its results, 15 detectives were selected to continue training at a more in-depth and intensive level, which lasted from October to January.
Detectives delved into modern methods of analytical search, principles of using OSINT tools in crypto investigations and algorithms for analyzing and researching the movement of virtual assets.
As reported, in November 2023, NABU detectives documented the use of cryptocurrency as an undue advantage, exposing an MP who offered 0.39 bitcoin to the head of the State Agency for Restoration.
The training was organized with the support of the U.S. Embassy and the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs of the U.S. Department of State (INL).
