UAH 600 million was refunded to “Ukrnafta” due to the NABU investigations
During December 2019 – February 2020, “Ukrnafta” OJSC (50% + 1 share belongs to NJSC "Naftogaz of Ukraine", 100 % state-owned) received over UAH 600 million from commercial companies, allegedly related to the minority shareholder of “Ukrnafta”.
Those funds was received in repayment of a “bad” debt incurred as a result of illegal actions of a number of persons.
The draft notices of suspicion were drawn up in autumn 2019. The NABU Detectives investigate allegedly abuses at the enterprise, regarding the following facts:
- embezzlement of UAH 7.5 billion of oil produced by “Ukrnafta” OJSC during March-August 2015 as a result of auctions for the oil sale;
- embezzlement of UAH 6.5 billion of “Ukrnafta” OJSC on the basis of concluded agreements on purchase of oil products, under which prepayments were provided.
On the basis of the case materials, the court approved the NABU lawsuits on invalidating 60 agreements between “Ukrnafta” OJSC and “Kotlas” LLC of purchasing petroleum products for the total amount of UAH 3 billion.
It should be noted that the partial repayment of damages is not a reason for terminating the criminal proceeding.
The NABU’s investigation is in process.
