Provision of security guarantees for judges is a priority in the process of establishment of the Anti-Corruption Court – Artem Sytnyk
The two key challenges in the process of selection of the judges of the High Anti-Corruption Court (hereinafter - the HAC) are to ensure participation in the competitive selection of the maximum number of transparent and principled professionals and to create conditions under which they will be able to make legal decisions without interference with their activity. This was emphasized by the Director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) Artem Sytnyk at the expert discussion "Competition to the High Anti-Corruption Court. Quo vadis? ", which took place on September 5, 2018, in Kyiv.
"Almost every day we send cases to courts. Accordingly, the number of cases which are not under consideration increases. Therefore, the establishment of the High Anti-Corruption Court is a necessary step that should solve the problem with not-considered cases as of top-corrupt officials. I am very pleased that today we have this conversation on some issues of adopted law, despite the fact that a year ago everyone denied the necessity of the establishing of the HAC ", said Artem Sytnyk.
The NABU Director expressed gratitude to the persons who had already submitted documents for participation in the competitive selection of judges of the High Anti-Corruption Court. He also calls on other candidates not to delay with submitting of documents.

The event was organized by Transparency International Ukraine with the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) within the framework of the project "Support to Anti-Corruption Champion Institutions Program".
