NABU exposed the Head of the District Court of Zakarpattia Oblast on receiving a bribe
On February 5, 2020, the Detectives of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) exposed the Head of the District Court of Zakarpattia Oblast on receiving an improper advantage. They acted jointly with the officers of the Department of Strategic Investigation of the National Police of Zakarpattia Oblast under the procedural guidance of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor`s Office.
The investigation revealed that the judge demanded and received UAH 15 thousand from a person for satisfaction of the civil claim.
On February 8, 2020, the judge got a notice of suspicion of committing a crime under Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The SAPO Head signed the suspicion.
The NABU Detectives started a pre-trial investigation as of these facts in January 2020.
According to Part 1 Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine a person is considered not-guilty in commission of a crime and cannot be a subject to criminal punishment, until he or she is found guilty by the court.
