Russian puppet official in Kharkiv region notified of suspicion

On Aug. 17, 2022, the so-called "head of the temporary administration" of the city of Balakliia in the Kharkiv region was notified of suspicion under Part 5 Art. 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Based on the materials collected by NABU, operatives of the Counterintelligence Department of the SSU and investigators of the SSU in the Kharkiv region, under the procedural guidance of the Kharkiv regional prosecutor's office, established that at the end of May 2022, the occupiers appointed a native of Horlivka as the "head of the temporary administration" of Balakliia. The traitor maximally contributed to the occupying authorities in the city.

Since 2014, the suspect had actively cooperated with russian propaganda media as a pseudo-expert, in particular, he participated in projects aimed at inciting separatist sentiments in the east of Ukraine.

 

According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered non-guilty in the commission of a crime and cannot be subject to criminal punishment until he or she is found guilty by court.
