Non-declaration by SBGS official

On Jan. 10, 2023, NABU and SAPO completed the investigation regarding the head of the regional department of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (SBGS), suspected of submitting false data in his 2020 e-declaration. His actions fall under Part 1 Art. 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (as amended by the Law of Ukraine of 04.12.2020 No. 1074-IX).

As established, the official failed to declare for 2020 his wife's use and ownership of a house in the suburbs of Kyiv and a land plot.

Although the house has not been put into operation, it is quite suitable for living: his family lived there during 2020 and 2021. The cost of the house is more than UAH 1 million.

After NABU and SAPO started the investigation, the SBGS official tried to hide the fact of non-declaration. In the declaration for the year 2021, he mentioned a "land plot with buildings" with a total area of 500 m2 in the suburbs of Kyiv, owned by his wife and daughters under a different right of use, namely «temporary residence» since Jan. 1, 2021.

At the end of December, the official was notified of suspicion.
