Kharkiv Territorial Office of the NABU started working
On July 28, 2017, the Territorial Office of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine was opened in Kharkiv. The address of Kharkiv Territorial Office, where an appeal office works, is Moskovsky Prospekt, 140, Kharkiv. Later on the workplaces for the Detectives and the prosecutors of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) will be equipped.
The Territorial Office will be staffed with the Director, the Deputy Director, 5 employees and Detectives. An open competition on Kharkiv Territorial Office vacant positions is in progress.
Despite the fact that the Kharkiv Territorial Office does not work at full capacity, its employees are ready to receive reports on facts of corruption-related offence and possible corruption facts from citizens. This was stressed by the NABU Director Artem Sytnyk at the briefing on the opening of the Territorial Office.
«The main task of Kharkiv Territorial Office as well as the rest of the Territorial Offices of the NABU is communication with the public, local authorities and mass media. It influences the speed of preceiving the problems in regions and defining the primary areas for corruption elimination,» underlined the NABU Director.
The Director of Kharkiv Territorial Office Yurii Kravchenko expressed his gratitude to the representatives of the European Union’s Anti-Corruption Initiative in Ukraine (EUACI) program for the assistance in providing material and technical equipment of the NABU`s Territorial Office. «With the support of international partners our Territorial Office was established in short time and the first employees have everything to start their work,» said the Director of the Kharkiv Territorial Office.
It should be reminded that the Kharkiv Territorial Office of the NABU was established on June 29, 2016. Its jurisdiction extends to Kharkiv, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia Regions and Anti-Terrorist Operation Zone (Luhansk and Donetsk Regions). In addition, the NABU has Territorial Offices in Lviv and Odesa.
The NABU received assistance from the European Union Advisory Mission (EUAM) Ukraine in establishment and development of the Lviv Territorial Office (which has been working for about a year).
