Case of causing 2.188 mln UAH damage to the NJSC «Nadra Ukrayny»: the investigation is completed

The Detectives of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) under the procedural guidance of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) completed the pre-trial investigation as of 9 persons suspected of causing damage in the amount of 2.188 million UAH to the State Enterprise (SE) National Joint Stock Company (NJSC) «Nadra Ukrayny». On November 22, 2018, the defense had been granted with access to the documents of the pre-trial investigation.

Among the suspects, there are:

- the former Director of the SE NJSC «Nadra Ukrayny» «Chernigivnaftogazgeologiya»;

- the Chief Engineer of the State Enterprise NJSC «Nadra Ukrayny» «Chernigivnaftogazgeologiya»;

- the Director of a private company and his Deputy;

- five employees of the Prylutska Oil and Gas Exploration Expedition of the State Enterprise NJSC «Nadra Ukrayny» «Chernigivnaftogazgeologiya».

These persons are suspected of committing crimes under Part 5 Article 191, Part 1 Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The investigation revealed that the «Chernigivnaftogazgeologiya» (subsidiary company of the SE NJSC «Nadra Ukrayny») in July 2016 transferred to the lease 248 drill pipes worth 2.188 million UAH to a private company. The private company immediately provided funds with a sublease to another LLC (related to the company).

The LLC had to return this equipment in September 2016, but in fact did not do it. According to the documents, drill pipes seemed to be turned. Then, as the NABU Detectives have found, in order to hide the fact of the absence of these pipes, the employees of the Prylutska Oil and Gas Exploration Expedition of the SE NJSC «Nadra Ukrayny» «Chernigivnaftogazgeologiya» filed fake documents for the rejection and transfer of drilling equipment in scrap of ferrous metals. The investigation revealed that the Director and the Chief Engineer of the SE NJSC «Nadra Ukrayny» «Chernigivnaftogazgeologiya» knew about the abovementioned actions.

The NABU Detectives started the pre-trial investigation as of the abovementioned facts in March 2017.

The persons were given notices of suspicion in the spring of 2018.
