Digital technologies and fight against corruption. NABU and Ministry of Digital Transformation sign memorandum

Identifying possible corruption risks when digitizing public services, introducing modern IT tools to increase the effectiveness of investigative actions, exchanging information on possible offenses, and monitoring the procurement of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for Ukraine's security needs — these are the key points of a memorandum signed by NABU Director Semen Kryvonos and Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, Education, Science and Technology Development — Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.

NABU, Department of State Office of Inspector General set up cooperation

In order to effectively monitor and investigate possible misuse of funds provided by the U.S. Government to Ukraine for post-war reconstruction, the Office of Inspector General of the U.S. Department of State is setting up cooperation and effective exchange of information with NABU. This was discussed during a meeting between Jason Loeffler, Deputy Assistant Inspector General, and Semen Kryvonos, Director of NABU.

Cross-border corruption: British law enforcers contribute to NABU's investigation

On April 25, 2023, NABU joined investigative actions conducted by colleagues from the UK's National Crime Agency at the request of detectives with the approval of SAPO under the international legal assistance tool. Such interaction is an example of the effective use of international legal cooperation and information exchange. As a result, detectives obtained evidence crucial for an investigation.

Food procurement scheme: ex-deputy minister of defense served with charges

On April 21, 2023, an interdepartmental investigation team comprising NABU detectives and SBI investigators, under the procedural guidance of SAPO prosecutors, notified the ex-deputy minister of defense and the former head of one of the MOD departments of suspicion of abuses in the procurement of food for the Armed Forces. The actions of the suspects caused almost UAH 12 million in damages and hindered the military from carrying out their direct duties to defend the country. They fall under Part 2 Art. 28, Part 2 Art. 114-1, Part 2 Art. 28, Part 2 Art. 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

NABU, Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University strengthen cooperation

Director of the National Bureau Semen Kryvonos and rector of Yaroslav Mudryi NLU Anatoliy Getman signed a memorandum of cooperation for the development of anti-corruption education in Ukraine. This will bring more opportunities for students to gain practical knowledge and skills, as well as unique experience in combating corruption in Ukraine.
