Corruption within STE: embezzlement of almost UAH 41 mln revealed

NABU and SAPO have discovered the former management of the State Foreign Trade Enterprise ”SpetsTechnoExport” (STE) embezzled in 2014-2015 and subsequently legalized more than USD 2.3 mln (UAH 40.8 mln). On Jan. 17, 2023, four participants in the corruption scheme were served with suspicion notices.

MP suspected of not declaring real estate in Spain

On Jan. 13, 2023, NABU and SAPO notified an incumbent MP of suspicion of specifying inaccurate information in his 2020 e-declaration regarding foreign real estate and funds in banking accounts. His actions fall under Part 1 Art. 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (as amended by Law of Ukraine No. 1074-Х of 04.12.2020). Since the whereabouts of the MP were unknown, he was notified of suspicion in absentia.

Non-declaration: another judge notified of suspicion

On Jan. 3, 2023, NABU and SAPO notified a judge of the High Administrative Court of Ukraine of suspicion of submitting false data in his 2020 e-declaration. The actions of person fall under Part 1 Art. 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (as amended by the Law of Ukraine of 04.12.2020 No. 1074-IX).

Seized assets fraud: organized criminal group exposed

NABU and SAPO have obtained evidence that the massive embezzlement of ARMA-managed assets, exposed earlier this year, was implemented by a criminal group consisting of four persons. On Dec. 29, 2022, the group's organizer, the owner of several law companies, was notified of suspicion under Part 3 Art. 27, Part 5 Art. 191; Part 3 Art. 27, Part 3 Art. 28, Part 2 Art. 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Since his whereabouts were unknown, he was notified of suspicion in absentia.

E-declaration misstatements: another MP notified of suspicion

On Dec. 27, 2022, NABU and SAPO notified an incumbent MP of suspicion of stating false data in his 2020 e-declaration. His actions fall under Part 1 Art. 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (as amended by the Law of Ukraine of 04.12.2020 No. 1074-IX).
