Odesa region court judge finally sentenced to 9 years

Pavlo Medentsev, a judge of the Odesa region Commercial Court, has been found guilty of receiving UAH 570,000 in undue advantage and sentenced to 9 years in prison with confiscation of property. The Criminal Court of Cassation of the Supreme Court has finally upheld the ruling, which was passed by the HACC Appeal Chamber on Oct. 7, 2020.

Kyiv Court of Appeal to decide fate of USD 5 mln bribe case contrary to CPC

The Supreme Court has ruled it is the Kyiv Court of Appeal and not the High Anti-Corruption Court that has to decide the fate of the case regarding an attempt to offer USD 5 mln in bribe to the heads of NABU and SAPO. The decision was made by the panel of judges of the Third Judicial Chamber of the Criminal Court of Cassation of the Supreme Court on March 26, 2021 (the full text of the decision will be announced on March 30).

Supreme Court invalidated illegal agreement that allowed to embezzle UAH 300 million of “Energorynok”

The Supreme Court supported the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) in invalidating the loan agreement between Tokmak Solar Energy LLC and Company Prima-Trans LLC. This agreement contributed to the embezzlement of more than UAH 300 million of the State Enterprise “Energorynok”. On January 13, 2020, the Supreme Court upheld the decisions of previous courts in this process in favor of the National Bureau.
