The Head of the village council got 2 months of arrest for taking 8,5 million bribe

On June 3 the Solomiansky district court of Kyiv upon the request of the detectives of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) in accord with the prosecutors of the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor`s Office (SAPO) chose a preventive measure for the head of one of the localities in the Vasylkiv rayon of Kyiv region. 

The detainee got 2 months of arrest with possibility of alternative bail of more than 8,2 million UAH.

As for the deputy of the village council, the court has not chosen a preventive measure yet and announced a break in a court session due to the detainee`s complaints on his poor health.

The pre-trial investigation is in progress.

It should be reminded that on June,1 the NABU in cooperation with the SAPO and the Security Service of Ukraine exposed and took into custody two officials of the village council in Vasylkiv rayon of Kyiv region. The head of the village council and a deputy of the village council had solicited and taken the improper advantage of 300 thousand EUR and 10 thousand USD (nearly 8 million 650 thousand UAH) for giving 26 hectares of public land on lease.
