NABU cuts administrative positions, expands pre-trial investigation and operative work personnel
With changes to the staff of the National Bureau, 20 additional positions have been introduced to carry out the agency's main function - the investigation of top corruption. These changes were announced at the meeting of the Committee on Anti-Corruption Policy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on May 4, 2023.
The National Bureau systematically communicates the need to increase the number of detectives and operative staff. The Bureau has developed a corresponding draft law, which provides for an increase in the maximum number of employees from 700 to 1,000. While the document is still being discussed by representatives of public and international institutions, NABU is looking for resources within the organization.
Thus, after examining the work of NABU's administrative staff, it was decided to reduce the number of heads of some departments/units from 21 to 13 and to optimize the structure (see infographic). This will free up 20 additional positions for the Operative and Technical Department, the Main Detective Department, and the Information Processing and Analysis Department.
Corresponding changes to the staffing schedule of the National Bureau will take place under current legislation and will take effect on May 10, 2023. NABU expresses its gratitude and respect to all employees who contributed to the development of the institution and the fight against corruption in Ukraine.
