NABU will strengthen cooperation with anti-corruption agencies of Hong Kong

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) will strengthen cooperation with the Hong Kong Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC). The NABU Director Artem Sytnyk and the executives of the ICAC agreed on this when the Bureau visited Hong Kong.

 

In particular, discussed signing the Memorandum of cooperation and information exchange.

The visit of Ukrainian delegation was held on May 9-10 upon ICAC’s invitation to take part in the ICAC International Seminar on Financial Investigation with the theme of «Cutting the Financial Vein of the Corrupt».

Besides the NABU, 200 delegates from all around the world were participating in Seminar. The workshop became a good platform for participants to share experience and to strengthen international legal cooperation.

It should be reminded that according to the NABU`s data 15.759 million USD was transferred from Ukraine to Hong Kong due to corrupt schemes. The visit was supported by the European Union's Anti-Corruption Initiative in Ukraine
