NABU and representatives of the Venice Commission discussed amendments to anti-corruption legislation
The official delegation of the European Commission for Democracy through Law (the Venice Commission) and a representative of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) visited the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) on January, 30-31, 2018. The executives of the NABU and representatives of the OSCE and the Venice Commission discussed the current situation in the sphere of corruption combating.
In particular, the NABU Director Artem Sytnyk stressed on the NABU`s position as of the regulations of the Draft Law №6674 («On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts Concerning Public Information Existence on the Financing of the Activities of Public Associations and the Use of International Technical Assistance») and of the Draft Law №6675 («On Introduction Amendments to the Tax Code of Ukraine regarding the Provision of Public Information about the Financing of the Activities of Non-governmental Organizations and the Use of International Technical Assistance»). The Director underlined their possible impact on the NABU.
As the result of the discussion the Venice Commission and the OSCE are to make a joint statement, which will be issued on March 16, 2018, at the plenary session of the European Commission.
