NABU and the European Investment Bank signed the Memorandum of Understanding

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the European Investment Bank (EIB) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding in order to exchange information for the prevention, detection and fight against corruption. The relevant document was signed by the NABU Deputy Director Anatoly Novak and the EIB Inspector General Jan Willem van der Kaaij in Luxembourg on September 27, 2018.

According to the agreements, the exchange of information will be carried out as necessary and in accordance with the procedure established by the legislation and the principles of the parties to this Memorandum.

The Memorandum of Understanding also provides an exchange of experience in the sphere of processing and analysis of investigation data, information technology (IT) and the use of advanced equipment for investigations.

The European Investment Bank, a financial institution of the European Union, founded in 1958 on the basis of the Treaty of Rome, has been located in Luxembourg since 1968. The EIB is responsible for the targeted use of the funds and ensures that operations and activities that are funded do not lead to cases of fraud, corruption, conspiracy, coercion, money laundering and/or terrorist financing.
