NABU Director visited Estonian law enforcement agencies

The Director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) Artem Sytnyk during his visit to the Republic of Estonia got acquainted with the work of its law-enforcement system. The visit took place on November 15-16, 2018, in extension of cooperation between the NABU and the Estonian Center of Eastern Partnership (ECEAP).

The NABU Director had meetings with the Estonian Minister of Interior Mr. Andres Anvelt, Deputy Director of the Internal Security Service (KAPO) Mr. Martin Arpo and Head of Anti-Corruption Department Mr. Meelis Ratassepp, Deputy Director of the Estonian Police and Border Guard Department Mr. Priit Pärkna. During the meetings, law enforcement officials exchanged experiences and practical tips for combating top-corruption.

Priorities for further cooperation were outlined as a result of negotiations with representatives of the Estonian Center for Eastern Partnership. In addition, the NABU Director gave an interview for the Estonian Public Broadcasting company Foreign Affairs TV Programme “Välisilm” and for the Estonian Public Broadcasting company.

It should be reminded that on June 6, 2017, in Kyiv the NABU Director Artem Sytnyk and the ECEAP Director Jaan Reinhold signed a Memorandum on Cooperation. It stipulates that the parties will organize workshops, joint conferences and seminars for raising the level of qualification of employees, inform each other on issues related to the fight against corruption.
